Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how EdgePilot ("EdgePilot", "we", "us") collects, uses and protects your personal data when you use our trading journal web application (the "Service"). EdgePilot is operated from the Netherlands. For any privacy question or request you can contact us at officialedgepilot@gmail.com.

We are the data controller for the personal data described below and process it in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. Data we collect

  • Account data: your email address and an encrypted (hashed) password, managed through our authentication provider.
  • Journal data you enter: trades and missed trades, setups and checklists, notebook notes, deposits and withdrawals, account settings, themes and any screenshots you upload.
  • Support data: if you send a report through "Report Issue", we receive your message together with your email address, the active journal, the page you were on and basic browser information.
  • Technical data: limited technical information (such as browser type) needed to operate and secure the Service.

2. How we use your data

  • To provide the Service: storing and displaying your journals, trades, statistics and reports.
  • To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
  • To generate answers in the optional Personal Assistant when you choose to use it.
  • To respond to your support requests.
  • To detect, prevent and address abuse, fraud and technical issues.

3. Legal bases

We process your data to perform our contract with you (providing the Service), on the basis of our legitimate interest in keeping the Service secure and functional, and — where applicable — on the basis of your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

4. Service providers we share data with

To run EdgePilot we rely on a small number of processors:

  • Supabase — database, authentication and file storage. Your journal data and screenshots are hosted in the European Union (Frankfurt, Germany).
  • Vercel — application hosting and delivery.
  • OpenAI — only when you use the Personal Assistant. To answer your question, the relevant journal data for the selected journal is sent to OpenAI for processing. If you do not use the Personal Assistant, no data is sent to OpenAI.
  • Email delivery — used to send authentication and account emails (such as sign-up confirmation and password reset).

Some of these providers may process data outside the European Economic Area (for example OpenAI in the United States). Where that happens, the transfer is covered by appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. We never sell your personal data.

5. Data retention

We keep your data for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, your journals, trades, notes, settings and screenshots are permanently removed. Support reports may be retained for a limited period to handle and follow up on your request.

6. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict and object to the processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. EdgePilot lets you exercise the most important of these directly in the app:

  • Export: download a copy of all your data from Settings → Account → "Export My Data".
  • Deletion: permanently delete your account and all associated data from Settings → Account → "Delete Account".

You can also contact us at officialedgepilot@gmail.com for any request. If you believe we handle your data unlawfully, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

7. Cookies

EdgePilot uses only essential cookies that are strictly necessary to keep you signed in and to operate the Service securely. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

8. Security

We protect your data with row-level security in the database (so you can only ever access your own data), encryption in transit, private and per-user file storage, and strict access controls. No online service can guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
